Official Phat Lewtage Rules of the Semper Fi Guild Empty
PostSubject: Official Phat Lewtage Rules of the Semper Fi Guild   Official Phat Lewtage Rules of the Semper Fi Guild EmptyWed Aug 01, 2007 1:54 pm

The following are the Official Phat Lewtage Rules of the Semper Fi Guild. All raiders are expected to know and understand these rules. By accepting a spot in a raid, you are hereby agreeing to these rules, and agree to abide by them at all times.
*************************************************************

Yes, its Looting Season once again in the little guild of Semper Fi, and the officers, have decided it might be wise to go over the PHAT LEWTAGE RULES of the SEMPER FI GUILD.

First of all, for the foreseeable future we will NOT be using any form of DKP (Dragon Kill Points) system. From the very formation of this guild, we decided that we would be selective and careful enough about who we invited to Semper Fi, that at least for 10-man raids and under, everyone ought to know who needs what, and who ought to get what based on need-based random rolls. Though some rules may be modified when we move into 25-man instances, this guild does not plan on using DKP, and prior to beginning raids past Gruul's Lair, any new raid rules will be made very clear.

The following are the rules, which are explained in detail below, along with Exceptions:

*Class-Specific

*Clear Upgrade

*One Epic per raid

*one T4 per raid

*one "greed roll", one "need roll" per raid

Loot is never distributed to anyone even after a winning roll until the officers and Master Looter have reviewed the looting process! We will check to make sure it is fair, and that the Semper Fi rules have been followed.

Recruits may participate fully in the looting process! We here at Semper Fi have come to the startling conclusion that it is better to make sure everyone gets decent gear as opposed to a handful of elite snobs.

1. When the Master Looter loots a kill, he will FIRST link what has dropped. After the initial linking, please carefully note which item he then posts for a roll, as it is OFTEN NOT in the same order as the initial link.

2. If you are interested in the item:

....it must be class-specific (something you would normally expect to see your class wandering around with). If it is a one-handed weapon, has massive defensive stats like +40STAM, 19 to DEF, etc. that would be class-specific to a PROT WARRIOR. This doesn't mean you have no chance to get that item if you are, say, a Hunter(see exceptions below). But being that the stats strongly favor the Tank, you would not roll against her/him.

...it must be a clear upgrade. You will not be allowed to roll against someone who desperately needs an item if you already have an epic. While we are trying to get the guild geared-up, this only makes sense. Please see Exceptions.

....you must NOT have already gotten an epic from the current raid (same day). We feel it is fair that once a raider gets an item, he/she allow someone ELSE to get something. again, there are exceptions.

....if you are UNSURE if you can roll, TYPE INTO RAID CHAT: MAY I ROLL? (MIR) This will effectively "stop the timer" on the process while officers review. It is CRITICAL that you do this right away, because we will not reverse a roll for the reason that you forgot to ask, or didn't know you could roll. NO ONE will be hassled for asking!! It is your right to ask, but if your request is denied, you must not argue. You may complain later after the raid, in private, to an officer or Guild Leader if you disagree with the decision.

....if you are positive you qualify to roll on the item, roll when the Master Looter says: "roll on [Heroic Medallion]."

The Master Looter will type a warning out to count down the roll. You must roll within this initial call, or type: "MAY I ROLL" either before or during the countdown of "5.....4....3.....2....1......GRATZ"

....if you win the item, that is your Phat Lewtage for the raid. You will now be in a cheering-on position for others trying to get their very own Phat Lewt. Please do not ask if you can roll on another item (see exceptions). Everyone wants loot. Everyone deserves a shot

Greed Roll vs. Need Roll

In the evet that an item drops that no one rolls on, prior to calling for Disenchantment or the odd purchase, raiders may opt to use the Greed Role. Raiders have the opportunity, once per raid, to roll on an item they can use but don't necessarily need. The item will go to the highest greed role, and greed roles are not subject to the same scrutiny as need roles (if a Warrior wants to greed role on a bow, and a Hunter wants it but already has a comparable weapon, they both role greed. Or, the Warrior would ask to take a need role so long as the Hunter(s) are not in need of the item.

IMPORTANT If the officers determine that a raider indeed needs an item that has dropped, a need roll may be forced on them. We will avoid any situations where a raider tries to save a need role for "something better." Greed roles are set aside specifically for those times when an item is desirable but not critical.

EXCEPTIONS

**TIER-4 ITEMS; until further notice, regardless of other loot won in a raid, anyone that otherwise qualifies may roll on Tier-4 loot. If a raider wins T4 gloves from Curator and Prince is downed during the same day's raid they will be expected to allow another raider to roll for the T4 helm. If you qualify to roll on the gloves you must roll. We need everyone geared-up, this is a team effort, and wanting to pass gloves in order to win the helm first is not sportsmanlike.

**GRUUL'S LAIR TIER-4: If a raider wins an epic item even if it is not a Tier-4 item from the downing of The High King Mulgar, USING A NEED ROLL he/she will be asked to pass on Tier-4 dropped from Gruul. If you used a GREED ROLL and won an item that dropped from the High King, You may still use a NEED ROLL on Tier-4 that drops from Gruul unless otherwise stated prior to the Gruul fight.

If you want to roll for your Tier-4 pants off Gruul you should NOT use a NEED ROLL during the looting of Hight King for ANY item

**NO-ONE NEED ROLLS; if no one rolls on the 'first call' from the Master Looter, he/she will then ask for GREED ROLES. If you can use the item, but it isn't a big upgrade, OR if you have already used your NEED roll, you may roll. If you win an item in this way remember that you can still roll on your Tier-4 if it drops.

**if an item drops, and you have already gotten an epic but are the only one that can use that item, it may be given to you without a roll. Again, in this case you still will be able to roll on Tier-4.

**UN-CLEAR UPGRADE; It is sometimes difficult to ascertain whether or not an item is truly an upgrade, and it especially can be hard to figure out who may need the item more. If this happens, please type in "SHOULD I ROLL?" in raid chat or to the Master Looter. It may be that even though you have an epic item, the one that dropped might benefit you more than anyone else.

**NON-CLASS-SPECIFIC; If an item drops that is not specific to your class (example: awesome bow, but you are a Warrior; cloth item with healing stats but you are a Druid) you may still receive the item if no one else qualifies for it. You may be asked to use your greed roll for it.

LAST RESORT BEFORE DISENCHANTMENT
If it appears that an item will be disenchanted- that is, no one qualifies to roll on the item or needs it- the item MAY be offered for sale. A blanket charge of 70 Gold will apply to any epic that is placed up for purchase. Purchasing an item will not affect your right to roll in any manner. The gold will go to the Master Looter and placed into the Guild Bank to purchase mats for pots, stat food, etc.**IMPORTANT: Officers reserve the right at all times to "assign" loot to a raider based on need and availability. Purchasing is a last resort and not a means to remain able to roll 'in case something better drops later on.'

DISENCHANTING LOOT
Mats from disenchanted items will be placed into the guild bank.

If you have any questions regarding looting, please ask an officer or Raid Leader. During the raid, after a boss is killed and the loot is linked, don't panic if you don't remember what you can roll on. You can always spit-out a "MIR (May I Roll)" and we will help

Here's to everyone getting sick amounts of phat, juicy LEWT! affraid
